About ToolKit Slate
ToolKit Slate is a small collection of browser tools for people who work with text, links, code, colors, and everyday web tasks. We made it because simple jobs shouldn’t require a heavy app or a sign-up screen.
The site is built around clear tools, plain instructions, and pages that explain what each tool does. Some visitors come for one quick count. Some come back because they need the same little helper every week. Both are welcome.
We keep the site focused. That means fewer tools at launch, better pages, and less clutter around the work area.
What we stand for
Your data stays with you
Every tool runs in your browser with standard web features. There is no server that receives what you type, paste, or generate.
Honest about limits
Where a tool can be wrong or differs from another tool, we say so on its page. A word count can disagree with Word by a few words, and a regex flavor is not every regex flavor.
Free, and supported by ads
The tools are free. Advertising pays for hosting and upkeep, and we keep ad space away from the work area.
Accessible by default
Every control has a label, everything works from the keyboard, and the interface respects light and dark mode and reduced-motion settings.
The tools
- Password Generator: Create strong passwords with control over length, numbers, symbols, and letter case.
- QR Code Generator: Turn links or short text into a QR code for print, sharing, labels, and quick access.
- Markdown Previewer: Write Markdown on one side and see the formatted result on the other.
- Regex Tester: Test a pattern against sample text and see what matches before using it in code.
- Text Diff Checker: Compare two blocks of text and spot the changes without reading line by line.
- Word and Character Counter: Count words, characters, sentences, and spaces for posts, forms, and drafts.
- Case Converter: Switch text between uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case, and slug style.
- Color Converter and Picker: Pick colors and convert between HEX, RGB, and HSL for design and front-end work.
